Musical Cook. I got this recipe years ago when I was student teaching
and a lady would always bring this cake in for us teachers to snack on
in the teachers' lounge. It is the best ever.
I love to bring things
whole circle, so I was excited to find that the publisher and author
had made available the "secret" apple cake recipe from the book. The
cake was fun and very easy to make, though the result was a tiny bit
too

recipe: I baked it in a cast-iron skillet (I'ma sucker for that rustic
look); added a smidgen of vanilla extract and a sprinkle of salt; and
glazed the finished cake with a little apple

for Balzano Apple Cake. I got the Balzano Apple Cake recipe from the
NY Times a few years ago and it is super. Balzano Apple Cake only uses
a half cup of flour with 5 Apples.
